2010 Sales Velocity for Orlando, with Graphs! This post is a continuation of our previous general view of the last quarter of 2010 (click here to read). You will find a lot of information packed into this summary that will be of value as you seek accurate and relevant data with which you can make good and informed choices. • A total of 28,602 homes were sold in 2010 compared to 23,921 the previous year. • Condo sales increased 49%, with 6,532 condos sold in all of 2010 compared to 4,374 sold in 2009 and 1,454 sold in 2008. An enormous majority (3,548 or 54%) of sold condos fell into the $50,000 or below price category. Condominiums selling for cash made up almost a quarter of the total number of homes which changed hands in the Orlando area!
Sales Broken Down by County Orange: 16% above than 2009 (18,823 homes sold in 2010 compared to 16,186 in 2009); Seminole: 29% above 2009 (5,688 homes sold in 2010 compared to 4,403 in 2009).
• The average 30 year interest rate is still below five percent! • There are currently 14,993 homes in all shapes and sizes available for purchase through the MLS. Inventory is currently at its lowest level since March of 2006. • With the economy showing signs of recovery, prices low and average thirty year interest rates below five percent,experts agree that homebuyer demand will continue!
